Covered in class are teaching techniques that require approval and techniques that are never allowed by a paid professional. The student will not only learn about the rights of people with developmental disabilities but how to assist someone in expressing those rights. The class will also give the student tips on how to positively support someone when teaching a new skill. The student will learn about what a behavior plan is and why they are used. Ultimately, the learner will leave Article 9 class understanding that Article 9 in practice is about assisting another person in not only maintaining dignity but finding more of it.

While the information provided in this training was great and very helpful, I feel as though the training actually started at 3pm. I did not feel like any of the Article 9 Competencies were touched on between 1pm-3pm. It felt as though there was a length of time that needed to be met instead of actually using the time well. My feedback would be to make the training to 2 hours in length as that is how long it actually took to review all the information needed for the training and the quiz.

I very much enjoyed this course. The instructor was very nice and showed great knowledge of the topic. The instructor encouraged participation and made the class feel fun and engaging. The instructor also was very clear of the information we needed to know and wanted to ensure our success in this course and for the test after. My only feedback is to slow down a little when it comes to writing down the important information but otherwise great class! and highly recommend this instructor for learning about Article 9. thank you!

The Article 9 training was actually a very imformative and interesting training. The instructor was engaging and knowledgeable. I have 20 plus years of experience in the behavioral health field and learned things that I did not know. This training is comprehensive and provides a great understanding or Article 9.

Not only did Chris give enough information about Article IV, but he truly showed how much he cares about the topic and why it is important to understand. Beyond that, he went above and beyond to be compassionate, understanding, and supportive throughout the class. I would say he is an advocate. As a person that has done this class before and has even studied Disability Activism in Canada, I think Chris is doing amazing.

Professor Chris Garcia was an excellent instructor for my online Article 9 course. He was knowledgeable, supportive, and made the material easy to understand. I appreciated how organized the course was and how clearly expectations and assignments were communicated. Professor Garcia was responsive to questions and provided helpful feedback throughout the course. His teaching style made a challenging subject much more manageable, and I would definitely recommend him to other students taking this course.
