Covered in class are teaching techniques that require approval and techniques that are never allowed by a paid professional. The student will not only learn about the rights of people with developmental disabilities but how to assist someone in expressing those rights. The class will also give the student tips on how to positively support someone when teaching a new skill. The student will learn about what a behavior plan is and why they are used. Ultimately, the learner will leave Article 9 class understanding that Article 9 in practice is about assisting another person in not only maintaining dignity but finding more of it.

I've taken a few of these, and it can feel like the longest 4 hours of your life. Not so with Chris. The passion and experience are clear. The class material is presented very well. If you're starting out or looking to refresh, this is the class.

The Article 9 training was very informative. The instructor explained the different types of behavioral techniques positive, approval-needed, and prohibited and provided practical examples that made it easy to understand. I felt more confident in recognizing safe, ethical ways to support individuals and ensuring their rights and safety are always protected. Overall, it was a helpful and worthwhile training and also made easier to pass the test, thank you.

It was very informative, interesting, and easy to understand. It was put together with care and well thought out for everyone and all different types of learners to understand. He even went over things several times as well as taking the time to make sure that everyone knew everything they needed when it came time to take the test pass, and even what to do if you don't. There was even plenty of opportunities to ask questions or even share your own experiences. Very well done thought out. If you are listening and paying attention to the course, you are sure to pass!
