Covered in class are teaching techniques that require approval and techniques that are never allowed by a paid professional. The student will not only learn about the rights of people with developmental disabilities but how to assist someone in expressing those rights. The class will also give the student tips on how to positively support someone when teaching a new skill. The student will learn about what a behavior plan is and why they are used. Ultimately, the learner will leave Article 9 class understanding that Article 9 in practice is about assisting another person in not only maintaining dignity but finding more of it.

I just finished Chris’s Article 9 class & it was truly excellent. Chris did an amazing job presenting the material in a way that was clear, engaging, & incredibly empowering. You can tell he genuinely cares about the subject matter & about the people taking the class, which made a huge difference in how impactful the training felt.
He created an environment where participants felt encouraged to think critically, ask questions, & really understand the importance of the concepts being discussed. Instead of just going through the motions, Chris made the material feel meaningful & relevant to real-life situations.
This was easily one of the most empowering & well-taught trainings I’ve attended. Highly recommend taking this class with Chris if you have the opportunity!
