Covered in class are teaching techniques that require approval and techniques that are never allowed by a paid professional. The student will not only learn about the rights of people with developmental disabilities but how to assist someone in expressing those rights. The class will also give the student tips on how to positively support someone when teaching a new skill. The student will learn about what a behavior plan is and why they are used. Ultimately, the learner will leave Article 9 class understanding that Article 9 in practice is about assisting another person in not only maintaining dignity but finding more of it.

This call was very informative, It was heart felt for me. I have a son with a disability (CP) It very nice to know there are programs like this to help people understand many situations and scenarios a person goes through in life Disability or not. This company cares about those kind of human beings who deserves a good quality of like with compassion , caring and understanding of their thoughts and feelings. Just like anyone else does.

I came back from a first break and my computer stopped working. so I had to use another computer and came back to the course after 10 min. I asked the question on the chat if I missed anything important and see if she can just go over briefly. But she just laughed with a smirk and said, "you missed a lot of buddy" and then just ignored and continued talking about emotional abuse and neglect slide. That was interesting how that coincided with that slide, but she could be a little more respectful and not assume that I was late from break. On the Next break, she wrote down a time, so someone (me I guess) wasn't late to the meeting. Instructor was Heidi Lewis.

Chris Garcia is an experienced instructor who presented complexed material in a successful manner. This allowed someone like myself, a first time non professional to become comfortable with these requirements. I would enthusiastically take another course with this instructor.

Chris made the class relevant with scenarios and examples of his encounters. Although this course was mandatory, I am glad I took it because the information enriched my understanding of myself and my client. I would recommend it for all who are involved with people with disabilities. Blessings.

For a 4hr training, Chris Garcia definitely made it interesting and knowledgeable. Chris was so passionate about teaching us Article 9. It was truly an honor to be in his class and to hear the stories and meet so many different people in the training. I feel more knowledgeable about going into this field and being an advocate and voice for the children my husband and I will be caring for!

This class was different from the ones I have taken in the past. The other classes were well instructed as well.It was extremely informative and explained where I understood right away. It seemed to go fast as well . The instructor you can tell is compassionate .
