Covered in class are teaching techniques that require approval and techniques that are never allowed by a paid professional. The student will not only learn about the rights of people with developmental disabilities but how to assist someone in expressing those rights. The class will also give the student tips on how to positively support someone when teaching a new skill. The student will learn about what a behavior plan is and why they are used. Ultimately, the learner will leave Article 9 class understanding that Article 9 in practice is about assisting another person in not only maintaining dignity but finding more of it.

Thank you, I was extremely anxious to take this class, anything with the word test in it, freaks me out!!! You were amazing, as an instructor but also as an advocate, I learned so much, I am so grateful that someone that the information clearly resonates with gave this class. I feel even more empowered to advocate, not just for My Special Needs Child but for many that have no idea there are rights amidst disability. Thank you so very much.

This course was direct and to the point, the material on the quiz was all covered well in the class well and Chris explained it well. I have taken this course twice now with Chris and he makes it comfortable and fun, I didn't find myself counting down the minutes.

Chris does a great job making the information accessible and memorable throughout the entire course. While this information can be dry, he adds anecdotal stories that helped to solidify knowledge. He also does a great job of answering questions and making the virtual classroom environment feel inviting.

a lot of information to take in, but well worth it. I wish I could see my test after the results to see which question I got wrong just so i could go back over that question. The instructor was informative and made sure we understood before moving on.
