Covered in class are teaching techniques that require approval and techniques that are never allowed by a paid professional. The student will not only learn about the rights of people with developmental disabilities but how to assist someone in expressing those rights. The class will also give the student tips on how to positively support someone when teaching a new skill. The student will learn about what a behavior plan is and why they are used. Ultimately, the learner will leave Article 9 class understanding that Article 9 in practice is about assisting another person in not only maintaining dignity but finding more of it.

This is the second time i have taken this class with Chris. He's very informative and adds a little humor to the class. I like how he left the floor open for questions. It didn't feel like a long four hours with everything you learn. Chris was a very good instructor.

Very informative class even though I have taken this class each year I am reminded of something I forgot or situations have changed over the years with the support I provide. Chris gave us an explanatory information about Article 9. We had time for Q/A and brief discussion if needed. Also, specific examples of scenarios were provided. I really enjoyed the course. This should be implemented in schools like a class, even for students. In this way we can instill the empathy needed for people with special needs. Thank you,

Very pleasant and knowledgeable instructor. The only thing I would have preferred is to have the meaty information loaded at the beginning of the class rather than the later part.

Christ is an excellent educator and I learned a lot and I loved how you engaged everyone in the class. I know I can pass it but problem with hearing language sentences words like trick me. I have been working group home with deaf program in Minnesota over 15 years. I like to watch sign language interpreters than closed caption too fast for me to read and lost some track your conversation with others. I do read with manual book. Denise
