Covered in class are teaching techniques that require approval and techniques that are never allowed by a paid professional. The student will not only learn about the rights of people with developmental disabilities but how to assist someone in expressing those rights. The class will also give the student tips on how to positively support someone when teaching a new skill. The student will learn about what a behavior plan is and why they are used. Ultimately, the learner will leave Article 9 class understanding that Article 9 in practice is about assisting another person in not only maintaining dignity but finding more of it.

My score was 85 percent, and I believe I answered incorrectly the question about the DDD nurse forcing Xanax. Using the word force makes it a very tricky question, even though it states a DDD nurse. It’s possible that the child’s age would have been relevant, considering that medication can be forced to very young children, but this is not as straightforward with adults. If it did state the age, I apologize, however, I don't remember seeing an age. However, I enjoyed the class! Thank you!
